Many in our communities struggle to acquire the basic needs of life: food, clothing, shelter. Others are victims of domestic violence, alcohol and drug abuse, and other scourges of modern society. Innocent children suffer through no fault of their own.

They feel these deprivations most keenly during the holidays. That’s when the Greater Newark Holiday Fund asks you to help these less fortunate individuals and families to a better life.

The public appeal for the 2011 Greater Newark Holiday Fund kicks off Sunday, November 13, 2011, and the campaign closes Sunday, January 15, 2012.

Don’t wait to do your part. It’s never too early or too late. We accept donations year round, with any donations made after February 1 applying to the next season’s campaign. Any gift made after February 1, 2011 applies to the 2011 campaign. Your participation is vital – and you’ll know you’re helping neighbors in a good cause.

Your gift is important regardless of its size, from a few dollars to five figures. Over 2,000 compassionate donors give to the fund every year, brightening the lives of individuals and families across six counties in New Jersey. We need every one of those gifts; we are grateful for all of them. So are the people for whom they made the holidays a little brighter.
