For 73 years the not-for-profit Greater Newark Holiday Fund has made the holidays a little brighter for people in need. We collect donations on behalf of 12 outstanding charities that provide social services throughout Essex, Union, Passaic, Hudson, Morris, and Bergen Counties

Our campaign raises extra money for our agency partners just when they need it most, at the end of the budget year. Your donation to the Fund boosts their ability to bring much-needed help to individuals and families in crisis. It finances initiatives such as

• Family and children’s services
• Foster care and adoption
• Pre-school programs
• Elder care
• Parenthood counseling
• Nutrition counseling and food donations
• Support for the physically and mentally challenged
• Rape care and counseling
• Domestic violence prevention
• Financial counseling and direct assistance

Your generosity has special meaning at this time of year. Even during the holidays there are people in our community who wonder where their next meal is coming from, or how they’ll care for their loved ones. Children suffer most because they cannot help themselves at all.
